Gerald Gloade reimagines the quintessential Canadian beaver in the traditional style of the Algonkian, celebrating 150 years of cultures meeting, sharing and evolving together.

Design

The obverse design by Dora de Pedry-Hunt and Ago Aarand depicts the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right profile, when she was 77 years old. It is surrounded with the inscription “ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA”. The RCM mint mark sits under the bust.

This coin depicts a traditional stylized beaver, under the inscription “CANADA”. It is surrounded with the facial value and the year of issue.
