1971 British Columbia Centennial Specimen Silver Dollar Coin – Royal Canadian Mint

1971 (1871-) Canadian $1 British Columbia Centennial Specimen Silver Dollar is the first non-circulating silver dollar was issued to the public in 1971 as a commemorative for the entry of British Columbia into Confederation in 1871. Its design is based on the provincial arms. The obverse features a modification of the Machin portrait in which the portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II was reduced slightly and her hair extensively redone.
